Walking around Boston often feels like being in a living, breathing museum. Everywhere you turn there is a reminder of the city’s – and the nation’s – storied history. But that’s just the starting point for family attractions here. Boston has a large number of excellent museums, many of which are either targeted specially at children or have special areas and exhibits to appeal to tykes. When visiting this city, the question is not so much what to see as how to fit in so many awe-inspiring sights.
Quick Tips to Start
- Boston hotels frequently team up with local attraction to offer special packages; be sure to ask if any are available when you make your reservation (this is especially helpful with getting into attractions like the New England Aquarium, which is perpetually packed).
- Driving in Boston isn’t easy – and finding packing can be all but impossible (many space are reserved for residents with permits). Get around town on the T (that’s the nickname for the local transit authority). The subway, bus, and trolley system is a smart way to travel.
