Orlando is synonymous with DisneyWorld – and for that reason alone, it leads every kid’s wish list of places to visit. But there’s more to this perennially sunny Florida city than Mickey Mouse and the Magic Kingdom. That old saying that like attracts like is true in this town, since the success of Disney’s theme park has led to the creation of many more, each with different themes. The main problem for any family is deciding how to do it all, since the attractions generally demand a day apiece. The good news: you and your children will be amazed and delighted by what you find here, because Orlando blends natural wonders with man-made ones.
Quick Tips to Start
- Always check with your hotel to find out what special packages are available. Many Orlando hotels partner up with one or more attractions, so you can receive substantial discounts on admissions.
- Universal Studios owns some of Orlando’s tops attractions, including SeaWorld and Wet’n Wild, in addition to its own two theme parks. If you’re planning to visit most of them, buy an Orlando FlexTicket, which costs less than individual admissions and also lets you visit the attractions more than once. The FlexTicket costs $185 for adults and $151 for children 3-9. All FlexTickets are valid for 14 days.
